SELECTED WORK

Hello! This page contains a curated portfolio of video work that I have done over the years in a variety of positions - as a writer, director, videographer, or video editor.

2026 Showreel
Here is a snappy showreel featuring clips of projects that I was involved in. A list of the projects and what my role was on them is at the very bottom of this page.

(fun fact: that’s me getting hit with the baseball!)

Indigenous Canada MOOC (videographer / editor) - 2017
When I worked at Onlea, I was the one “video guy” who shot and edited everything, and ran our studio. Indigenous Canada is the free online course from the University of Alberta that our company was hired to create. I worked closely with the team at Native Studies at U of A to plan out the shoots, shot the hours upon hours of green screen course content, and edited all the video content for the entire course. It took more than a year to create, and has gone on to have a huge impact across Canada.

(Note: I do not have access to the original footage, and the video content is only viewable if you enroll in the course! So, this official trailer is here to symbolically represent the entire work, which I see as a significant achievement in my career, and I feel honoured to have been a part of it. This trailer does contain some footage that I shot (including bison and round dance footage). I did not edit this particular trailer or shoot the green screen footage!)

Scenic Route to Alaska - Time For Yourself Music Video (concept / director / editor / special effects) - 2020
I have collaborated on a lot of music videos for local artists. Here is one that was a lot of fun to make.

How To Learn Anything Web Series (story editor / producer / assistant editor) - 2017-2022
A very cool project I am proud to have had a big part in is all three seasons of the TV and web series How To Learn Anything. Aside from a lot of editing, I primarily came up with a lot of the episode concepts, and helped with planning the shooting process in how to accomplish all the crazy stuff we came up with.

Folk Lordz Sketch Comedy (director / editor / color) - 2017-2021
Having a background in improv and sketch comedy, I was glad to collaborate with Todd and Ben from the local comedy duo Folk Lordz. Folk Lordz did a lot of culturally-themed comedy (Ben is Russian/Jewish and Todd is Plains Cree) and they approached their comedy with a surreal, silly, punk rock ethos. We did two “seasons” of sketch comedy, releasing a sketch a week for a few months in 2018 and 2021. Ben and Todd wrote the sketches, and I directed and edited. This one is a pretty classic example of their style, and was very fun to shoot and edit.

Emerald Foundation Documentary Series Season 3 (editor / color) - 2022
For something a bit more serious and straightforward, here is one video in a series of mini-documentaries I edited for the Alberta Emerald Foundation, on behalf of Hoopla Media.

Alberta NDP Tour Campaign Video (videographer / editor) - 2015
I was hired as the tour videographer/editor for the 2015 Alberta NDP election campaign, which involved travelling around Alberta and filming Rachel Notley on her campaign stops, to get people excited about the prospect of a changing tide in the Alberta political landscape. While on tour I did all the video content and a lot of photography which was used on the website, signage and documents. This particular video connected with people, and was widely shared on social media, and was even shown at campaign rallies to pump up the crowd!

Territorial Acknowledgements: Going Beyond the Script (editor / motion graphics) - 2022
While I was working for the Center for Teaching and Learning at the University of Alberta, I was once again “the video guy” who did all the shooting and editing. My colleague Jennifer Ward wrote this video and we worked together with a small team to create this piece exploring Territorial Acknowledgements during the pandemic.
